Welcome to our website! ELT stands for Extended Learning Time and is when we do some of our most important learning of the day. In our ELT we spend lots of time working in small groups, playing academic games, using technology, reviewing key standards, and having fun competitions that make learning fun! This ELT group is very focused on individual student needs so it is hard to include everything we will do in that time. Some things your student will participate in during this time will be phonics small group lessons, researched-based games and activities, practice of reading comprehension and reading fluency strategies, extra math instruction, and math fact fluency practice. We focus alot of attention on personal growth. Students will graph their progress and celebrate improvements with our class and even with the whole school on BTV! My number one goal is to help your students love learning and feel successful! Below you can find some resources to work on with your student to help them improve as a reader and mathematician.

High Frequency Word PracticeHigh frequency words are the words that show up the most often in books and other texts. Learning the words as sight words, or words students recognize right away, helps them become more accurate and more fluent readers.
